Account Executive

Our Account Executives serve as an integral member of our client service teams. They keep the team on task for deliverables, manage news and social media monitoring, prepare daily reports, write content, liaise with reporters and producers, and participate in program planning. Account Executives need to be strong organizers, skilled multi-taskers and resourceful problem solvers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on a variety of topics
  • Write, edit and proofread content including fact sheets, backgrounders, byline articles, spokesperson bios, pitch letters and other client deliverables
  • Organize events including media briefings, webcasts and tweetchats
  • Develop strong media relationships and create interview opportunities for clients
  • Monitor social and traditional media of client/company interests and track/analyze topics/themes
  • Provide high level client service and support including participating on client calls and producing recap reports
  • Keep abreast of latest trends and best practices in communications, influencer and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., communications, political science, journalism)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in communications or consulting required (e.g., completed internship). Agency environment experience encouraged.

Account Supervisor

Global Gateway Advisors has an immediate opening for an Account Supervisor who is an energetic self-starter, skilled collaborator and knows how to deliver exceptional results for clients. Our Account Supervisors drive development and implementation of programs that are smart, creative and flawlessly executed. Candidates have a proven track record in delivering the highest levels of client service that strengthen and grow our client relationships. They engage, inspire and lead teams to achieve the best results for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Be a motivational team leader by driving team engagement and collaboration across projects and within the company
  • Lead internal planning meetings and brainstorm sessions, with clear structure and deliverables
  • Contribute to and lead professional development modules for teams
  • Think and act like an owner to identify and grow new business opportunities within existing accounts
  • Spearhead collaborative new business efforts with prospective client
  • Build strong relationships with clients and deliver exceptional integrated communication programs
  • Bring new approaches to achieve client goals and drive dialogue in their space
  • Detail oriented with the ability to deliver exceptional execution of programs that exceed client expectations
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills that ensure deliverables are on target and on time
  • Possess strong writing and editing skills for all types of written materials persuasive, corporate and executive communication, including news releases, executive talking points and Q&A preparation
  • Own strong media relationships and have in-depth knowledge of how to engage with media
  • Proficiency in social media and experience in developing and implementing integrated strategies via content and channel management. Execute integrated communication campaigns that include a strong social media strategy

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience working in communications, including agency work, with a wide range of clients in diverse industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., communications, political science, journalism)

Intern

NOTE: WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR OUR SUMMER AND FALL 2017 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.

We are seeking candidates who exhibit a desire to work at the intersection of public affairs and global business. Ideal candidates are self-starters, multitaskers and detail-oriented, and are able to execute and follow through on their own and others’ ideas and thrive in our entrepreneurial environment. In return, our interns receive exposure to opportunities for professional growth and participation across a range of projects that contribute to the success of our firm and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and analyzing research on a variety of topics related to healthcare, education, nonprofits, corporate affairs and global business
  • Drafting and editing communications materials, including research briefs, backgrounders, pitches, press releases, etc.
  • Working with the team to develop and execute communication programs
  • Developing media relationships and creating media opportunities for clients
  • Monitoring media of interest and tracking/analyzing topics and themes
  • Leading an intern project based on own interests and the firm’s needs

  • Strong interest in public affairs & global business communications
  • Ability to jump in where needed, work independently and within a team
  • Superior research, writing and editing skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student (rising juniors + seniors)
  • Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, English or Political Science majors preferred
  • Previous PR or communications experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Social media savvy, with experience using Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and other key platforms

Session: Winter/Spring (February-May 2017); Summer (June-August 2017). Note: Exact start + end dates are flexible

Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Compensation: Paid

If your skills meet the necessary requirements for the position, you may receive an invitation to participate in a phone interview. Applicants who advance to the final stage will be asked to complete a writing test based on a sample assignment. An offer(s) will be extended to the strongest candidate(s).

  • Q: Is there any specific format I should use when submitting my resume and cover letter? Resumes and cover letters are accepted in Word or PDF file formats only. Please do not paste your resume and cover letter in the body of the email.

  • Q: Do I need a degree in communications to apply? No. Candidates with strong skills in writing and research will be the most successful in this position, therefore Communications, English, Journalism and Political Science majors are usually strong fits. Students majoring in a different discipline are also welcome to apply if they feel they fit the requirements for the internship and demonstrate an interest in our work.

  • Q: Do I need to be at the Global Gateway Advisors office full-time? For the internship to be mutually beneficial, internships at Global Gateway Advisors are full-time. Interns work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the duration of the internship (except for holidays).

  • Q: Can I apply as a part-time intern? We are only offering a full-time internship program at this time.

  • Q: Do you accept more than one intern? The total number of interns we accept for our program is dependent on the quality of the applicant pool.

  • Q: Does Global Gateway Advisors offer college credit? We currently do not offer college credit. However, we are happy to have a discussion with you and/or your professor/adviser if you require college credit.

  • Q: Do you accept international applicants? Yes. International students must be legally authorized to work in the United States based on their citizenship or current visa status.
